The first missionaries of the Metropolitan Church Association came to South India from the North with a deliberated vision to reach the un-reached and plant churches in their villages.

The missionary work began in the late 1940’s with 12 men (the first trainees of the MCA missionaries) were taken to North India for Bible Training. The field was ploughed and the Gospel seed was planted in the Krishna District. The MCA was based in Gunadala, Vijayawada and continues to be the head quarters for this ministry. The beautiful garden that was acquired then in now a great blessing and has been a center of inspiration for the Gospel Work.

From the year 1975 onwards, Rev. Ebenezer has been serving the Lord from this place at different levels, and now as the Executive Director for Metropolitan Mission ministries. He married Mary Ebenezer in 1977 and God has blessed them with 3 children, who are all part of this ministry.

In 1993 with 20 orphans, semi-orphans and needy children we started a home. After one and half a decade the number raised up to 300. That was great blessing for the orphans and needy children. In the year 1996 the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches have come forward to donate liberally. As a result a very good piece of land was bought. It is about 18 kilometers away from the city of Vijayawada. It is called Madalavari gudem. Subsequently the buildings are provided, boys dormitory, girls dormitory and a dining hall with sitting capacity of 200 children at a time, workers quarters, the auditorium and a primary school. To God be the glory!

Out of the 300 there are 49 children who are studying in different colleges. They are marked for their best performance in class rooms and sports too. They own good number of prizes at district level competitions. One boy is studying to be a civil Engineer; atleast 15 girls turned to be the nurses and several students are spread in different colleges. It is amazing to see their development. They are taken into the home while they are kids, now they are grown up like blossoms. Before they leave home they could be self reliant and most importantly they know the savior in their lives.
